Android viruses and other malicious codes are increasing. What is the best tool for this? According to AV-TEST Labs, a German security product testing organization, collected samples of malware for Android are increasing every year. Mobile malware in 2019 is expected to account for about 33% of all malicious code reported in standard tests. "IOS devices are not affected by malware, and mobile malware threats are largely from Android," said Dionysius Jumele, Gartner research director. "There's a lot of companies with Android users, especially Android devices, or companies with high security levels like finance, healthcare and government," said Jumelere.
Android malware is getting more sophisticated. Consider the DoubleLocker-Android Ransomware recently discovered by IT security firm ESET. The Double Locker changes the pin of the device so that the user can not connect to the device. You can also encrypt the device's data. According to Iset, this is a form of malicious code not previously seen in the Android ecosystem.
The good news is that Android security is improving, and the variety of security applications available on the platform is strong. "This means that cybercriminals have one or more obstacles to overcome in order to succeed in malware activity," said Nick Fitzgerald, a senior researcher at ISET.
